Inspired to Organize

I have quite a bit of storage in my house. We built this house 4 years ago, and I made sure to add as many nooks, cubbies, and drawers as possible. However, my design space is seriously lacking.

When I moved here, I was in a jewelry-making funk. Creating jewelry had started off as something fun to do on the side, and quickly became something that occupied much of my time – I stopped loving it, and would go for months without making a thing. My tools, stones, beads, and findings got shoved in a bag and found a home under the sink in the laundry room.

I’ve fallen in love with the craft again, but since I’ve occupied all available storage space, my jewelry bag still lives in its tiny spot. Let me tell you, it’s a big, fat pain to haul it all out and dig through it every time I’m in the mood to design.

So I’ve been dreaming…

I’m dreaming of a space where everything is at the ready, and easy to see.

I’m dreaming of little containers that are as pretty as they are functional.

I’m dreaming of a little spot that I can call my own.

It’s time to turn those dreams into reality. Time to stop pondering and get to planning. By the end of the summer, my goal is to get it all done – I’ll be sure to share the pics with you as soon as my spot is ready to go!

What have you been dreaming about? Is it time to wake up and make it happen? I’d love to hear all about it!

  • When I was young, my mom always made our marinara from scratch. Truthfully, she made just about everything from scratch – and I just grew up thinking that was normal. I didn’t really realize that marinara was readily available in a jar until I was older. And so, I’ve always preferred the taste of the… [Continue Reading]

  • Life is catching up with me and I’m feelin it.  Running non-stop lately is taking it’s toll. I’m exhausted. Last week, a few school parents and I took a group of forty 5th graders to the Eagle Bluff Environmental Center for three days of outdoor education.  While it was well worth the months of planning and organization, I… [Continue Reading]

  • My poor husband. He’s truly concerned for his future with me. And my crazy memory loss. For instance, the other day we had a long conversation about a specific subject while on the phone. A half hour later, he arrived home, and I proceeded to dive right into the same conversation. Because I couldn’t remember… [Continue Reading]
