One Skirt, Two Ways

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a post on how to wear one item multiple ways, so I’m bringing it back by showing you how to switch up a chambray skirt (last seen here, looking quite patriotic on the 4th of July).

Before I begin, here’s my tip of the day: an upshot photo of an already shortish skirt makes said skirt appear much shorter than it already was. Unless you’re looking to show off the goods, I’d keep it at ground level.

And here’s a bonus tip: It would appear that other mothers visiting the park think it’s very sweet that you’ve brought your camera with you, until they realize that your child is actually taking YOUR picture. And when they see you’ve brought an outfit change, the eyebrows REALLY get raised. Keep this in mind when planning your next photo shoot.A basic white tee gets a super charge with some Wild Ruffle chain link necklaces and silver caged earrings, paired with sky high faux snakeskin platforms from BCBG.

A quick change into a Merona button down, silver JCrew loafers, and a necklace of my mom’s circa mid-1980s makes this look a bit more casual (and perhaps a little more appropriate for chasing the kiddos around).

My mom’s closet is chock full of great stuff, just waiting for me to wear them. How could I resist this one?

  • When I moved into our new house last November I started with a clean slate. Our living room furniture found a home in the kids’ loft. Our old familyroom furniture went directly to the unfinished basement for the kid’s entertainment area. Which left my front sitting room and new family room empty. Yay! Yay! Except for the… [Continue Reading]

  • Snuggle me Snuggly. Snuggle Me Snuggly is one of my family’s favorite bedtime books. I’ve read it so many nights over the last twelve years that we’ve started reciting the entire book page by page without even having it in our hands. Here we go… straight from memory… Not sure if I’ll get all the randomness… [Continue Reading]

  • The other morning, I woke up – and right away it started. The whispers in my head… saying, “You’re not good enough. Your business will never succeed. You’re a terrible mother.” Lies. False words that I allow to creep in my mind, making me doubt everything I know. Telling me that I am not who… [Continue Reading]

You’ve got a job to do and your gonna do it :) And thank you so much for showing different ways to wear the same item! :)
