One Skirt, Two Ways

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a post on how to wear one item multiple ways, so I’m bringing it back by showing you how to switch up a chambray skirt (last seen here, looking quite patriotic on the 4th of July).

Before I begin, here’s my tip of the day: an upshot photo of an already shortish skirt makes said skirt appear much shorter than it already was. Unless you’re looking to show off the goods, I’d keep it at ground level.

And here’s a bonus tip: It would appear that other mothers visiting the park think it’s very sweet that you’ve brought your camera with you, until they realize that your child is actually taking YOUR picture. And when they see you’ve brought an outfit change, the eyebrows REALLY get raised. Keep this in mind when planning your next photo shoot.A basic white tee gets a super charge with some Wild Ruffle chain link necklaces and silver caged earrings, paired with sky high faux snakeskin platforms from BCBG.

A quick change into a Merona button down, silver JCrew loafers, and a necklace of my mom’s circa mid-1980s makes this look a bit more casual (and perhaps a little more appropriate for chasing the kiddos around).

My mom’s closet is chock full of great stuff, just waiting for me to wear them. How could I resist this one?

  • If you’ve seen me in person lately, you’ve probably been wondering why I’ve been wearing my glasses non-stop for the past month. Turns out, I’m holy. For the last month, I’ve had irritated eyes, and at one point, the vision in my left eye began to blur. Don’t ever Google why you might have blurred… [Continue Reading]

  • Around here, we like to think of ourselves as natural beauties (wink, wink), but the truth is that sometimes the Wild Ruffle girls need a little help. The thing is that we don’t want it to LOOK like we need any help. That’s where Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel comes in. Not only is it sweat… [Continue Reading]

  • Ok, I’m about to be real. And. I. mean. REAL. It’s totally T.M.I. So if you don’t like hearing about gross women’s topics, then stop reading now. But come on ladies, you’ll understand…I feel bloated, crampy and uncomfortable {you know why}. It feels just as fabulous as it sounds. Some months are better than others but this… [Continue Reading]

    What’s up Fellas
  • I really, really, really like birthdays. What could be more fun than a day set aside to celebrate someone? And I make no exception for my own birthday – it’s a great excuse to see friends, relax a bit, and do some favorite things. I’m turning 37 today. Now, the number itself has never bothered… [Continue Reading]

  8. Omgosh your story was hilarious! My neighbors think I’m a little strange because my daughter takes my pictures sometimes as well. I’ve gotta give you a big virtual high five for changing outfits at the park! You’ve got a job to do and your gonna do it :) And thank you so much for showing different ways to wear the same item! :)
