My family spends pretty much all our time outdoors in the summer months – being from Minnesota means you take it when you can get it. I love spending all this time in the sun, but as I’ve said before, I am super careful about my fragile skin.
So right now I’m thankful that giant, floppy hats are in which means my choices in headwear are abundant. That, and my bronzer. Because everyone looks better with a little color. And you’ve seen what I look like without it. Yikes.

What are you thankful for this summer? Are you as thankful for floppy hats and sunshine as I am?
Linking up here today:
Did you know that there are tons of songs devoted to hats? And did you also know that National Hat Day is January 15th? I’m thinking that maybe I start celebrating that holiday. Perhaps I can do the Mexican Hat Dance, the Straw Hat Polka, and sing Straw Hats and Old Dirty Hank by the Bare Naked Ladies.
I guess, if we were celebrating this holiday in January, we’d have to wear woolen hats and not large brimmed floppy ones. So that would change the feeling of the party altogether. But I still feel like it’s worthy of a party. Perhaps that’s because I take any excuse I can to have fun. I love a good party – why not make it a hat party?
So, who wants to join me next January for a National Hat Day celebration?
