Snapshots of a Sunday

We had a lazy kind of Sunday, winding down from two days worth of celebrating my husband’s 35th birthday. Here are some highlights.

A big flower tucked into my messy bun hides the fact that I made no effort with my hair, right?

My oldest daughter and I spent about an hour playing tennis. Keep in mind, I use the term ‘playing’ loosely. She’s a beginner, but we’re having fun!

It’s not quite knee high by this 4th of July, but I’m still a little in awe of the fact that there is corn growing in my back yard. I’m showing that brown thumb who’s boss.

I can’t decide if my mani is patriotic or ladybuggish. Will probably be re-doing this one soon.

Three children went directly into the tub after creating these masterpieces.

What were you up to this weekend?

  • This weekend was a whirlwind! My husband headed out of town on business on Thursday, and extended his stay until Sunday evening to stay with his uncle. • I just got back from vacation (and have seriously been researching cheap flights – without luck – to leave again because it’s so stinking cold here!). Tammy’s headed out in a few weeks to a warm destination. So we both have the tropics on our minds. We thought we’d put together a handy little vacation… [Continue Reading]

  • My 12 year old was over at a friend’s house last weekend. While most of the time I’m arresting her phone and entering it into our family phone-jail, this time was different. I am proud to say she wasn’t glued to her phone… this time, she was glued to a newspaper! What? Yes. Adaline and… [Continue Reading]

  • As I mentioned last week {here}, we were invited to the Twin Cities Oscar Experience 2015. It proved to be a fabulous soirée with food, Hollywood fashion and most importantly… giving back to the community! All proceeds are split between non-profits, Twin Cities Film Fest and Aegis Foundation. Cate was unable to attend at the last minute… [Continue Reading]

  • Someone take me back to Arizona asap. Seriously – it’s so stinking cold here in Minnesota! I love my home state, but when you board a plane in 80 degree weather, and return to -5 degrees, it’s rough going. I know, I know – I’m not going to inspire sympathy from many around here. After… [Continue Reading]
