Shop Love

You all know that I love to shop local, and when a local shop is filled to the brim with tons of fun and on-trend items, they make it oh-so easy on me.

Amber Toste, owner of Houndstooth Boutique, is doing just that – both of her store locations (in Eden Prairie and Savage) are always stocked with tempting goodies sure to keep you in style.

Sigourney, who works out of the Eden Prairie location, is sharing with Wild Ruffle readers a few of her favorite trends this season.

Colored Denim

Colored denim is everything for this summer! It is a fun and easy way to get a pop of color into your every day wardrobe. My personal favorite is the Nico Midrise Super Skinny in blue, green, and purple. The wonderful thing about this jean is that it has a great fit and the colors are easily able to transition into fall. Swap your tank tops for a neutral colored chunky sweater and a great pair of boots to rock this bright look into next season.

Oversized Sweaters

We have some amazing oversized sweaters right now at Houndstooth. I can’t get enough of what Wildfox Couture has to offer. The adorable Seeing Stars Lennon Sweater has been seen on celebs such as Jessica Simpson and Alesandra Ambrosio recently and I’m not surprised! It is super light and extremely comfy to wear on cool summer nights. A definite must have.

Printed Blouses

Right now Houndstooth has TONS of gorgeous printed, flowy blouses, like these from Joie. What is great about a printed blouse is that is it easy to wear. Just pair yours with your favorite pair of skinny jeans or a slim trouser for and effortlessly chic look.

Be sure to join us the evening of July 25th from 6-9, at the Eden Prairie Houndstooth for a night of shopping (with a special offer of 20% off!), wine, treats, and jewelry. Anyone like free jewels? A fabulous charm from Stella and Dot will be given to one lucky shopper that night. It’s going to be so much fun – and we’d love to have you there!

If you’re not in the Twin Cities area, you can shop via Facebook, and Stella and Dot online too!

  • This weekend was a whirlwind! My husband headed out of town on business on Thursday, and extended his stay until Sunday evening to stay with his uncle. Meanwhile, the kids had more activities schedule during those four days than you can shake a stick at (what does that phrase even mean?!). It seemed that just… [Continue Reading]

    Deep Sigh of Relief
  • I just got back from vacation (and have seriously been researching cheap flights – without luck – to leave again because it’s so stinking cold here!). Tammy’s headed out in a few weeks to a warm destination. So we both have the tropics on our minds. We thought we’d put together a handy little vacation… [Continue Reading]

    Wild About Vacation Style
  • My 12 year old was over at a friend’s house last weekend. While most of the time I’m arresting her phone and entering it into our family phone-jail, this time was different. I am proud to say she wasn’t glued to her phone… this time, she was glued to a newspaper! What? Yes. Adaline and… [Continue Reading]

    Kids are So Creative!
  • As I mentioned last week {here}, we were invited to the Twin Cities Oscar Experience 2015. It proved to be a fabulous soirée with food, Hollywood fashion and most importantly… giving back to the community! All proceeds are split between non-profits, Twin Cities Film Fest and Aegis Foundation. Cate was unable to attend at the last minute… [Continue Reading]

    WIW to the Oscars
  • Someone take me back to Arizona asap. Seriously – it’s so stinking cold here in Minnesota! I love my home state, but when you board a plane in 80 degree weather, and return to -5 degrees, it’s rough going. I know, I know – I’m not going to inspire sympathy from many around here. After… [Continue Reading]

  1. Adorable! I’m loving all those trends right now!

  2. Hey there, you might want to tell the owner of Houndstooth boutique that their site has malware. When I try to open the site I get error/malware messages. It seems to be happening a lot on smaller sites lately so they’re not alone. I love the ikat Joie blouses though — and your blog :)

    • Thanks for the love, Amanda:) I’ll pass along the message to Amber. I’m not getting that notice when I click the link, but your malware detection might be better than mine – yikes!

  3. Hi Every One Please do not go to houndstooth boutiques website its been hacked!

  4. You must also create a portfolio to show your
creativity as well as imagination to the agencies. What made
up an HDTV are four rows of LED modules that are laid out on the top,
bottom, right and left of the television panel. If you keep within the Depth Budget –
with occasional short-term effects not exceeding 4% positive parallax and 2.
