The summer months are making it hard to get any pictures for outfit posts. I spend most of my time at the pool with the kids, so any time I’m actually clothed, I feel it necessary to snap a few shots to prove to myself I wore something other than a swimsuit. I do love the summer uniform of a swim suit, and maybe a little cover up sundress on top while I’m walking to and from the car. But every once in awhile you have just got to get dressed, right?

And if I’m going to change out of my suit, I might as well make it worth my while. I think anything with a sassy zipper up the back should make the cut. Like this one here. It is a new favorite – the colors are what puts it right up at the top of my fashion list. And that zipper I referred to? Well, it least a little surprise every time I walk away. And what’s more fun than that?

What’s your summer uniform? Do you spend most of your days in a swim suit? Or do you actually get dressed for the day most of the time?

Do you have anything fun planned for the rest of your summer? We are trying to think of some out of the box ideas to do with the kids this year – something different than we normally do. If you’ve got any ideas – throw them my way, will ya?

  1. I don’t think being stuck in a swim suit all the time is a bad thing!! Sounds good to me 🙂 But this dress is definitely super cute if you have to get dressed. The floral print isn’t too much and the zipper up the back is really unique.

  2. Love the dress with that yellow cuff. They complement one another perfectly.

How do you feel about the exposed zipper? Sometimes, I really love it on a dress/article of clothing, and sometimes I hate it since I feel like it might not be as trendy in a few seasons. What do you think?

    1. It’s not something I’ll buy a ton of, because you’re right – I don’t think it’ll be in a couple of years from now. But at only $42, I’ll wear the heck out of it while it is still in style and move on to the next trend. I try not to spend too much on anything that’s not classic.

  3. Such a fun background for a flower dress 🙂 I’m so jealous of the fact that you get to be in your suit all the time – I haven’t even worn one yet 🙁
