Who doesn’t have a couple of old baggy sweaters hanging out in our closets?
You know the ones – you wear them around the house because they’re oh-so-cozy, but you’d never actually leave with them on.
It’s time to re-fashion one of them into something fun and new, thanks to this fabulous DIY from Tammy at a little punchy.
The best part is that you don’t have to stitch a thing (good news for a girl like me who doesn’t even own a sewing machine!). Don’t you just love a do it yourself project that doesn’t involved anything too complicated?
Step 1: Using a ruler to keep your line straight, draw a line down the center of your sweater using fabric glue. This will keep your edges from fraying. Once the glue dries, follow the line with a scissor to cut the sweater in half.
Step 2: Select trim of your choosing (we used embossed croc from the Leather Hide Store) and weave it in and out of the sweater material, wrapping in a loose whip stitch.
Step 3: Add other embellishments if you’d like – Tammy chose to add extra trim to make it appear that this sweater has pockets. Otherwise – you’re done! How simple is that?!
