It’s a really, really, REALLY busy season for my family right now. We are on the go all the time.
I’m fortunate that I have a husband who is helpful and an equal partner is getting people where they need to go, especially at night since I’m typically done with work long before he is. Since he usually coaches my son’s sports, he gets Davis to baseball or wherever, and I handle the girls’ stuff.
For years, Ed traveled quite a bit, and with three little ones at home, the days would feel very long. But since they were younger, our schedules were quieter and easier to manage.
Fast forward a few years, and the story is quite different. Ed is traveling this week (he left three days ago), and boy, am I feeling the pinch already.
Thankfully, my parents live in town – without them I would’ve been pulled in two many directions this week for sure. Shout out to you, Mom and Dad – you’re the best (especially when I have to run my eldest to a last minute performance a half hour away and I’ve got two 8 year olds to put to bed)!
But it made me appreciate all that single parents have to take on every day. Those with regularly traveling spouses too… You routinely take on the job that was meant for two people, and you just handle it. It’s amazing really.
So hats off to you, single parents! You rock.
You know what else rocks? Warm weather. It’s coming our way soon, and we’ve got LOTS of cute stuff at WR, so you can be ready for it. Like this distressed tank (it’s also available in black). It’s a new favorite of mine. I’ve been wearing it over a tank, or layered under this one.
