After years of begging Daddy to no avail, we finally have a pet in this home. The only problem is that everybody hates him.
Well, everyone except me. I find Sammy fascinating.
But he makes Sadie cry. And the rest of the family just thinks he’s disgusting.
I have to say, when he invited a friend to come and live with him, he made me a little nervous. Because now I’m wondering if he’s planning to invite even more.
I do think he’s brought me good luck, however. The door to door sales girl who came the other night couldn’t get out of there fast enough when I spotted Sammy’s skin shed on the ground during our conversation and went over to pick it up. My whole family just thought it was gross though, and made me throw it away in the outside garbage.
I’m talking of course, about the garter snake who lives in the bushes in our front yard. I’m guessing his friend is his baby (hmm, so maybe I should refer to Sammy as a she from here on out), because the new guy is smaller and we just started seeing him around recently.
Garter snakes are harmless and I don’t mind them slithering around here. But I remember a house in Eden Prairie being taken over by snakes, and it’d really be my preference that the Mezyk household not become a snake den any time soon. I’m thinking it may be time for Sammy and his little green friend to find a new home elsewhere.
A much more welcome green friend is this floral romper, newly arrived in the shop. It was even tweenage daughter approved, so it must be cute. 😉
Find it at the shop or online here. Shoes c/o Shop Bop.
