I sometimes miss the days when my kiddos were little. With their little squishy cheeks and innocent little faces, I couldn’t have loved them more.
And yet, I do. I love them more and more all the time. And I love the stage that we are currently in.
One of the reasons I love it so much is that I actually get to date my husband again. Because Avery is twelve, and the other two are eight, we feel comfortable leaving them home alone together. And that means Ed and I get to sneak out way more often together than we used to.
Oh, we always made time here and there for date night. But now it is a weekly mandate. And often times it’s more. They don’t have to be big to-dos. More often than not, we do something simple together. Happy hour, window shopping, or even an hour long walk around the neighborhood.
It’s great to be just the two of us. Because before we know it, it’ll be just the two of us all the time (sniff, sniff) as the kids head off to college and adulthood.
Now, if I could just freeze time at this point and in this stage…
Wouldn’t this top, newly arrived in the shop, be perfect for a date night out? It’s easily dressed up or down, so it fits a lot of different occasions. Find it in store, or online here (and hurrah – it also comes in black!). We have just a few of these bralettes left in the shop too, so head in soon if you want to pick one up (also comes in cream and black). Shoes are courtesy of Shop Bop last summer, and the handbag is vintage from my great Aunt!
