A Mixed Bag

I don’t normally mix my prints. I’m a keep it simple kind of girl. But this skirt, with its simple chevron pattern, makes it oh so simple to do.

In fact, in one of my first attempts at mixing it up, I was wearing the very same one (check it – and my list of tips for mixing prints – out here).

An animal print top, a pop of color, and a fun vintage bag, and I’m all set.

shoes – Cents of Style, bag – vintage, skirt – Nordstrom, belt – Circa Vintage, necklace – Wild Ruffle, top (similar) – JCrew

If you’re an expert on mixing your prints, I’d love to hear all about it. Though it’s not something that I often do, my girls are definitely experts on it – they know no boundaries when it comes to mixing patterns. Ha! I don’t know that I’m ready to copy them just yet…. after all, their look is sometimes more crazy chic than fashion forward. But I do admire their lack of inhibition and confidence in just wearing what makes them happy. I wish I could emulate that more often – wear what makes you happy and the rest will fall into place, right?

  1. I love the top. Looks great on you. I have to say I don’t mix prints. However, I do think it looks cute when I see it. I need to branch outside my comfort zone more. I’m learning this through weekly WIWW posts. If you visit my blog, you will see how conservative I really am. I’m slowly pushing myself to change.
