Often times, no matter how early I’m up, no matter how much time I have to get ready, it comes down to the final seconds before we scramble pell mell into the car and make a mad dash off to wherever we’re headed.
So it’s no surprise that, as I was leisurely straightening my hair the other morning (because I have to straighten my hair before I curl it – gotta love textured hair), my husband said, “What are you doing? We have to leave in 5 minutes for church!”
Now, choosing an outfit is often times the longest part of my morning.
I select an outfit, put it back.
I take out another, mull it over, and choose something else instead. I just can’t seem to be decisive. Maybe I have too many options in there.
But if I’m a hurry, I’ve got my go-to black sheath dress. It works every time, always fits, and I can accessorize it differently every time I put it on. It’s my “when in doubt” item.
I pulled that sucker off, and made it in the nick of time. Thank goodness – the hubs hates it when we stroll in late!
dress (similar) – H&M, tights – DKNY, bag – JCrew, boots – Bare Foot via Macy’s, necklace – vintage
What’s your “when in doubt” item? Do you have something in the closet that you can grab and make it work when you’re in a rush? Let me guess – it’s a black dress, right? 😉
