So, I talked for about a million bazillion years about how I was finishing my lower level. I know – that’s a really long time.
And it just occurred to me that while I went on and on about it, I never bothered to show you the results, except in glimpses – like here, and here. Gasp – I must do something about this as soon as possible.
So, without further ado, here is part 1 of my lower level house tour, in which we begin with the bathroom and back hallway. Let me know your thoughts!
This space isn’t huge, so we jam packed it with as much storage as possible for a small area. And because there wasn’t room for an official linen closet, my brilliant husband came up with the idea of splitting the cabinetry – what you see here just outside the bathroom backs up to a skinny piece of cabinetry on the other side of the wall (in the media room).
We also utilized the space by inserting a shelf right into the shower wall (the tile is a mix of travertine and slate).
The box on the floor and the candle holder (an old light from a ship) were vintage pieces found at a favorite local shop, and pretty much everything else came from somewhere online – we spent hours scouring the internet.
The back bench is still a work in progress. I’ve got plans for a seat cushion and some pillows – but I’m taking it one day at a time for now!
