I was going to write a wrap up post for the big event last week, but that’ll have to wait.
Cuz I spent the weekend getting much needed time in with my oldest daughter, Avery, at Camp Shamineau Bible Camp – having a ball and pouring into my relationship with her.
We rode horses, rock climbed, did crafts, sang songs, and stayed up way too late. We spent time with great friends, and time on our own, and all of it was time well spent.
My go-to outfit of the weekend? Comfy pants, rain boots, and my new Northernly hair band.
I love the age my girl is now – 8 is such a great age to be. She’s growing up, but still wants to hold my hand, and I’m hanging on to these precious moments for as long as I’m able. I was so proud of her this weekend. She tried several things that, up until now, she would’ve been too nervous to try. She only likes to do things that she knows she’s going to be good at. But this weekend she pushed herself, climbing the rock wall (and getting back up once she fell down), and all kinds of other fun things. I loved having this precious time with her.
Can’t wait to go again!
Have you ever done a mother/daughter camp weekend? If not, I highly recommend it! If you’re in the area, look up Camp Shamineau – it’s such a great program. They do a wonderful job with speakers and activities alike.
