My weekend away got the ball rolling on some ideas I’ve needed to process for awhile, and just never found the time to before this.
Not only did I get to spend some valuable time with my daughter, I got to have some great conversations with a few of my amazing friends. Out of these conversations came a few realizations.
First of all, I have a lot of distractions in my life. I grasp at every shiny thing that comes my way because it seems so great at the time. And I often miss what is right in front of my face.
I don’t want to be the mom at the park pushing my kids on the swing with one hand while I scroll through my Facebook feed with the other.
And so –
I deleted the app from my phone. Easy answer right?
I kept Messenger and my Page app – and I’m certainly not ready to deactivate my account, but after only one day of getting rid of the main page I felt more focused on my kids AND on my life. I didn’t get sucked in for 5 minutes here, and a few minutes there. And I loved it. I have plenty of time to check the latest updates on all my friends’ lives when I sit at my computer, but I don’t need to do it while walking through Target.
I have some re-evaluating to do with my business. There are aspects of it that are no longer bringing me joy, and those are the things that need to go. I’ll keep you posted on some changes to come.
Change is great, isn’t it? Particularly when it propels you forward into a better version of who you’ve been created to be.
Have you made any big changes lately for the good?
And on a completely note, I thought I’d share with you all my ensemble from my big event!
