As someone with skin issues, I’m always looking for ways to take care of my epidermal health.
Awhile ago, I saw a mention of coconut oil on another blog, and was intrigued. Since then, I’ve done a lot more research, and decided that it’s pretty much a miracle product.
Here are just a few of its uses:
As a hand lotion // As a hair balm (unless you’d rather use one of these) // As a replacement for other cooking oils (I use it to roast all our veggies now) // To increase oral health // To improve thyroid function
But lately, I’ve been using it to exfoliate.
There are two ways you can go about this – with baking soda or sugar. I chose baking soda because I wanted to start with a more gentle option. Next time, I’m trying sugar.
Mix 1/2 cup coconut oil and 1/4 cup baking soda or sugar. Whisk together, and scrub away those dead cells that have been accumulating on that pretty face of yours. One thing to note – I use organic coconut oil, and recommend you do the same (find it here and have it shipped right to your house). The purer the ingredients the better, right?
