Let’s face it – both of us here at Wild Ruffle are moms of three, which means we’re not going out to fancy schmancy soirees nearly as often as we’d like.

So when we do, we want to put the effort in to feel as amazing as possible. Below are some easy steps from each of us on how we do big night out party prep.

Tammy’s tips:

I like to start getting party ready a few days before the big event with Crest 3D Whitening Strips. There’s nothing like a bright white smile to feel like you can face the cameras. And though the box cautions that you’ll see results after three days, I saw an immediate improvement.

Beauty behind the scenesMy next step for prep? It’s in the shower. I love the new Gillette Venus & Olay razor, especially for a romantic night out.  Other razors have the moisturizing strips, but this one completely takes the cake.  I found my legs were so smooth, I felt like I was in a commercial – AND my hubs agreed!  Jason might be an even stronger advocate for this razor than I am! Wink, wink.

Guess how how I get my full lashes? I don’t have to rely on falsies anymore – I switched to Bombshell by Covergirl!

It’s a 2 step mascara that takes your lashes from naked and thin to plump and VaVaVoom in seconds, and it’s my last step before I head out the door for a special night!

Cate’s tips:

I’m all about the hair when I have a special event. Because I like to work with ‘dirty’ hair for an updo (it just seems to stay in place better when it’s second day hair), I wash my mane the day before a party, using Pantene Damage Detox Rehab Creme afterward to repair any dryness.

The next day, I add a dry shampoo, like Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo. Dry shampoo not only soaks up some of the grease between washes, it gives you extra volume too – even though you’re pulling your hair up, you want that added fullness it provides.

Next, creating a deep side part, loosely braid the front section of your hair, pinning it back with a bobby pin.

An updo in 3 easy stepsUsing a few more bobby pins, create a messy bun on top of your head.

The last step is to give the look some extra shine with a repair spray like Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect and Shine Spray.

And then I’m out the door and ready to party!
