Balloons on the Bed

This morning began with balloons all over the bed, fresh giant doughnuts for breakfast, and evidence of a few gifts ripped open before the school day even started.

It’s my daughter, Jillian’s, birthday.  She turned 10 at 2:35am this morning!  Birthdays are a big deal around here.

Awh, to be 10 again… the yearning & desire to age faster than physically possible.  When does that stop?  I’m not one that frequently lies about my age or freaks out when there’s another candle on my cake.  But 27.  27 is probably the year that I decided, “aaa yeah, I don’t need to get any older, I’m ok with the number 27.”

Can you keep a secret?  At least don’t tell the birthday girl.

Tonight we’re surprising our 3 girls with a night out to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres to see The Little Mermaid.  It should be a night to remember with delicious fare, fanciful costumes, and outstanding Disney performances right in front of our very eyes {bc we scored an awesome table!}.  I’m envisioning back to our first DisneyWorld {FL} show where my tear-filled eyes stared at their bright baby faces as the magic unfolded.  They were in complete and utter awe and I wasn’t even interested in watching anyone other than my girls’ pure enjoyment.  The simple Disney princess magic.

In honor of princesses everywhere, I’m wearing tulle and lace.  All I need is a little satin and I am the stereotypical Disney princess.  Although, I had to add some polka-dot flair to the mix, I feel like I’m wearing one of the 10,000 dress-up dresses that scatter our toy room floor.
