Wine Tasting Party

As you know from this post, I’m homeless.  Well… not technically homeless… but kinda!  We sold our house too quickly {good problem to have I suppose}.  But while we wait for our new construction, it leaves my fab family of five without a home base to call our own for a few months.  If you know me, you know that I’m always up for a little adventure.  I love blowing in the wind and not really having a plan.  I’m a bit of a free spirit.  A quality that can drive my straight-arrow attorney hubby into a fit some days.  But what would he do without me really?  He’d be pretty bored I’m assuming.

But all that being said, even this adventure-seeker is getting a little frazzled this summer.  It turns out that even though we’ve found out we have the most amazing friends and family that will take us in at the drop of a hat, it’s difficult and exhausting to always be on the move.  Not knowing where you left a particular pair of earrings or handbag or even an important piece of mail can be a bit stressful.

No worries though… we know this is temporary.  We see the light at the end of the tunnel {even though that little light is currently pin-sized}.  We are happy and healthy and love what the future holds.

A staple of mine during this nutty summer has been my growing collection of maxi dresses.  Here’s yet another example of one piece of clothing making my day.  A long maxi is my solution.  The knit material can be thrown into my backpack, pulled out and put on without a single thought.  I can wear it to the park, the store, the post office.  Perfectly ready for whatever comes my way.  Perfectly black.  And I have to mention my TOMS from Apricot Lane.  Perfectly heightened.  It makes me taller yet the flat step makes it comfy all day long.

  1. Hope your homeless situation gets resolved soon. You will love your new place once you make it your home. Your scarf is gorgeous. I will remember to style my black maxi dress with one of my many pretty-print scarves. Thanks for the inspiration. =)

  2. I love that scarf. Omgosh do I love it.
Also, I was in complete panic mode in a similar homeless situation 2 years ago. Good for you for remaining calm. I probably could have handled that time in my life with a bit more grace.
