I’m super excited to be hosting Thanksgiving again this year.
We have a pretty giant table and I love having as many people around it as possible. My family and my friends gather around, and we share life together. We’re thankful for all that we have, and for each other and our relationships together.
This year, there will be 13 of us. Thirteen people, sharing food, laughter, and thankful hearts.
I decided to incorporate our spirit of thankfulness right into the table decor this year, using simple and inexpensive materials to create the look. A paper grocery bag turns into a placemat. And with a little help from a Sharpie marker, the table is set.
It’s an easy to do DIY that even the kids were able to help me out on – my 10 year old took charge and made most of them. I’m excited to see all of us fill these up with our thoughts about what gratefulness means to each of them. Each of my children have different personalities and different priorities – it’s fun to see their hearts come through when they share.
I love Thanksgiving, because it’s a day to remember to stop and be grateful for all that we have. I need to take the time to do that more often, regardless of the time of year. My personal list is a long one – I just hope I have enough room on my placemat to write it all down. 😉
