Life is so much better when it’s done with others.
Fortunately for Tammy and I, we’ve got some really great friends (friends that are like family) with whom we are doing life.
Typically at this time of year, we head off with a group of couples to The Barn. For a variety of reasons, that didn’t work out this year. Together we took a break from the shop (check it out online by clicking here). So instead, the ladies headed off sans the men to the cutest little cottage you’ve ever seen, where we did a whole lot of nothing at all.
For real. Nothing. Saturday was spent in pajamas and sitting on the couch just talking. At 6 pm, I showered, only to put on a second pair of pajamas. We had packed all the food one could ever need (isn’t it funny how the food is so different when it’s just the girls? Soups and some form of salad were served at every course), so there was no need to leave. My husband truly thought it was weird (“What do you mean, you did nothing? No games? Nothing?!”).
But it was the loveliest thing of all, and so needed.
We covered just about every topic there is to cover. We dove in deep and grew in friendship and love with every passing hour.
I’m so grateful to have friends like these – and pray you’ve got them too. Everyone needs friendships where you get past the surface and find what’s real together.
We did manage to find some time to shop, with stops in Buffalo, MN on the way there and back. There were some great treasures there. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you’ve got to find a time to stop out in Buffalo. We loved Buffalo Nickel, and a bunch of the little shops in the downtown area too.
Tammy took some great pics of the place in which we stayed. I highly recommend booking a vacation time there!
