I’m no stranger to making mistakes. There’s been many-a-day I’d like to take back. It’s taken quite some time to realize I need to make a change to my actions and learn from each day.
It doesn’t help to just ignore my missteps. It’s true, I don’t get stronger or smarter unless I learn how to handle those hard moments. The age-old saying, Live and Learn is short n sweet but also an extremely powerful position to take. Do I really live something and learn from it? Good and bad? Well- from here on out, I plan to do just that.
I will be intentional to look at each situation and make a change. I will not repeat patterns that are unhealthy. ahem– have coffee and chocolate for breakfast and lunch… cough cough– let self deprecating thoughts control my mind… humm– let time slip by without being productive… There are other negatives on my list but I won’t waste another moment thinking about ’em.
Making changes to habits I’ve carelessly built up over my lifetime isn’t going to be easy. I know it won’t. But you have to start somewhere and since this is the natural Starting Over point of the year – I’m jumping on board. This is not a New Year’s Resolution per say – wellll I guess it kinda is.
My #1 Goal: To make a difference in this world. And to do that I need to have better control over me. Or more specifically – I’m relinquishing control to one that can make something of my messes. God.
My plan: Give it all to Him. My days, my nights, my thoughts, my actions. All in knowing He has a greater plan. Far bigger than anything I could ever dream of.
My prayer: “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” The Prayer of Jabez – 1 Chronicles 4:10.
I can not wait to see where God takes me this year. Please feel free to check in from time to time and make sure I’m staying on target. Helpful reminders are always good.
Cheers to a Happy and Healthy New Year!
