My parents are both turning 70 within a month of one another.
So, of course, my brother and I decided we needed to celebrate in a big way. And what’s better than a surprise party to celebrate a milestone day?
We filled the house with people (and a whole bunch of food), mixed up both red and white sangrias into pitchers, and waited for the birthday couple to arrive. I THINK they were surprised… though they may have guessed something was happening.
But whether or not they had an idea something was up, they definitely had fun. Friends from various stages of their life had gathered together to toast them, and it was fun to catch up with them all – and to meet some new to me people as well.
Of course, a bunch of the Wild Ruffle shop workers were there too, since my mom is currently an all star employee. It’s nice to be able to hang out outside of the work day, and talk about things other than new merchandise or whether or not we’ll be getting more Minnesota hats in (the answer is yes – they should be arriving soon, and Tammy will be sewing them up like crazy to get them in your hands!).
Happy birthday, Mom and Dad! I’m looking forward to the years to come – maybe another surprise party for your 100th? 😉
By the way, if you’re looking for the perfect party dress, look no farther than this one. Ignore my crazy wind swept misty day hair. It’s been pouring here in Minnesota for a week straight. Sunshine, where have you disappeared to?!
Find this dress at the shop, or online here. And pre-order more of the hats here!
